Winter Group Show
The Winter Group Show aims to reveal the wide variety of topics and themes urban, street and lowbrow artists explore, and put forth challenging ideas about urban art. Joshua Petker consciously continues the art historical practice of exploring the nuance of human emotion through the female form. Shepard Fairey’s “esthetic flirtations with… propaganda graphics” aims to inspire his audience to investigate the political and socio-economic status quo. Newcastle-based street artist Hush’s portraits of geisha and anime women examine gender roles, juxtaposing Eastern imagery and Western cultural values. These three artists are just a sample of the incredible artwork that will be on display in the Winter Group Show. This exceptional collection of art will further examine the boundaries of lowbrow, street, and fine art in an exciting and novel way.
Artists include: Ferris Plock, Robert Burden, Charles Krafft, Joshua Petker, ABOVE, Clayton Brothers, Akira, Hush, Shepard Fairey, Henry Gunderson, D Young V, Jessica Hess, Pedro Matos, Kevin Cyr, Casey Gray, Geoff Campen, Diana Campen, Diana Ruiz, and Blek le Rat.
