A Show About Something (MSN)

“As if seeking out answers to universal questions in a victorious Trivial Pursuit pie, the radiant, patterned works on display broadcast in strange waves and frequencies, as if they materialized of their own accord.” — Pete, Postbox, San Francisco

Something About Everything About Something by Mark Warren Jacques @ White Walls

Party Time @ White Walls (hyperallergic)

“His paintings are equal parts pop and mysticism; they linger between the monastic, the psychedelic and party time. A Portland-based artist, his works assert themselves with a clearly defined West Coast swagger. They beam light straight into your head, they knock you down with colorful brilliance only to offer you a leg up and a wholehearted wink.” – Howard Hurst for HYPERALLERGIC

White Walls: MWJ (ARTBEAT)

Something About Everything About Something opened this past Saturday night at White Walls and ARTBEAT was there to cover the happening. Read the article here and check out some of their great shots of Mark Warren Jacques’ work below:

“In White Wall’s new exhibition, Something About Everything About Something, artist Mark Warren Jacques further explores his interest in sacred mysticism, folklore, and universally shared moments within the growth and cycle of relationships between men and women. Employing universal symbols representing moments such as conception, birth, death and the after-life, his paintings evince the easily transmutable states of being within all life stages.” – ARTBEAT
