Conversations with the “Linear Empires” Artists

This week at White Walls, we’re busy installing our next show, Linear Empires – which is shaping up to be a really impressive collection of work, from an extremely diverse group of artists. The show includes stunning found-wood assemblage work by Richard Pearse, Mary Iverson‘s detailed landscapes invaded by foreign geometry, a fantastic collaborative wood, fiber and paper installation by duo Diana Ruiz and Geoff Campen, paintings and painted objects by Brendan Monroe, super-detailed new mixed-media work by Augustine Kofie, clean, simple line-based pieces from Moneyless, and the impressive, patterned color explosion that is Greg Ito‘s new work.

Needless to say, the show is a really interesting exploration on the intersections of art and design, art and craft, the artist’s touch in a highly digital age, and how we interpret our visual world. We thought you might be interested to hear a bit more from the artists themselves, so we had brief conversations with them regarding the work for the show, their favorite design inspirations, and what it’s like to be working between the ever-shifting sister realms of art and design.

It’s been a mellow month here, but things have started to heat up ever since we got a package in from Italy…. Moneyless! He has come with tons of goodies for us all too!

We will be selling Moneyless prints for $60.00. They are an edition of 6 and feature two different designs. He also will be selling a hand crafted book of his designs. More info to come later…

In The Studio With Geoff Campen and Diana Ruiz

This time next week we’ll be hanging the work for the Linear Empires group show at White Walls, and we’re so excited for you to see it! Today we took some time out to share some in-the-studio footage from artists Diana Ruiz and Geoff Campen (both featured in the Linear lineup), as they finished up their work for the show. Always great to get a look into the artistic process, especially with two of our favorite artists.
