Fidel Castro. Che Guevara. Camilo Cienfuegos. These are the political figures that Ernesto Yerena chooses to paint, print, and draw in his “Hecho con Ganas” series. This ongoing project is Ernesto’s contribution to the Latin American community of his hometown, Los Angeles, and beyond. As an American with Mexican roots, Ernesto seeks to instill his kinship with pride and confidence. He is now in the process of releasing three prints based on original paintings of Fidel, Che, and Camilo Cienfuegos that were seen in our Winter Group Show.
